NoVA Privacy StatementThe Non-Violence Alliance ("NoVA") is committed to respecting your privacy. We do not sell, rent, lease, loan or otherwise redistribute to any third party any personally identifiable information collected through a Web site visitors' use of endingviolence.com (the "site"), except as necessary to process customer requests for services. Any information that you provide to us is held in complete confidence and security. It will not be used in ways to which you have not consented. The following statements describe how we gather and use information from our visitors and visitors to our Web site. Information We CollectNoVA collects three types of information about our visitors: 1) aggregated (collective) data that tracks visitors as a group; 2) information volunteered by visitors via online software and registration forms located on our site; and 3) information volunteered by visitors through responses to surveys and/or other promotional activities. Gathered DataNoVA gathers aggregated (collective) data for editorial and feedback purposes, marketing and promotional purposes, statistical analysis of Web visitor behavior, content improvement, tracking how many visitors have seen or clicked on our site, and customizing content and layout of the site. Collective data allows us to monitor traffic on the site to determine which areas of the NoVA site are most attractive to visitors. This type of information and analysis helps NoVA to make improvements and add new features and services based on customer interests. Information Volunteered by Web Site VisitorsOn occasion, we may ask for information when web site visitors request our services, when you register to use our site, or to make a donation. For example, to process your donation, we may require your name, address, phone number, email address, and credit card information. This personally identifiable information will not be disclosed to any third parties other than NoVA or as necessary to process your donation through our secure credit card processing system. Information Volunteered by visitors and Through Donationsvisitors may be invited to volunteer information as part of surveys and other promotional entries. Volunteered information is the property of NoVA, subject to and protected by the Electronic Communications Privacy Act. NoVA stores all volunteered information in a private, secured database, which is not connected to the Internet. By volunteering information, you agree that NoVA will own such volunteered information, and may freely use such volunteered information, even if such volunteered information includes personally identifiable information. Use of Information We CollectWe do not provide your personally identifiable information to anyone outside of NoVA, except as necessary to provide to third parties for fulfillment of your donation or service request or when your personally identifiable information is collected as volunteered information. Any information otherwise disclosed will be in the form of non-personally identifiable data or aggregate data. You should note that the NoVA site may link to other Web sites. Those sites may not follow the same privacy policy as the NoVA Site. For example, when you click on a link, this can take you away from our site and bring you to another organizations' web site. These linked sites may collect data and ask for personal information and it is your responsibility to review the linked site's privacy policy prior to providing any personal information to that company or advertiser. You can do this by referring to their Web site's home page, company profile page, privacy policy page or contact information area on their Web site. If they do not provide an on-line privacy policy, you should contact them by phone and ask for information regarding their privacy policy. Personal Data SecurityNoVA has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. We operate a secure network protected by industry standard firewall and password protection systems. Only authorized individuals have access to the network. We utilize SSL encryption when accepting and transmitting personal information (such as that for donations or credit card transactions) across the Internet. SSL technology has been shown to provide effective protection for millions of Web site visitors and visitors who transmit personal information over the Internet. Access to personal information provided by visitors is limited to authorized individuals only. NoVA Right to Change the Privacy PolicyNoVA reserves the right to change this privacy policy at any time by notifying visitors of the existence of the new or revised privacy policy by posting a notice to that effect on the site.
